Here's a precious little gem from Oct. 22. ;)
"For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:11-12

Thanksgiving Cake Balls!
We made Thanksgiving cake balls!
We used a Betty Crocker gluten-free chocolate cake mix.
Waiting for the cake to bake... ;)
After the cake was baked and still slightly warm, we crumbled it up in a mixing bowl and added about 3/4 container of Betty Crocker Hershey chocolate frosting.
We formed the mixture into balls and put them in the freezer on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper for about 30 minutes.
Then we dipped the cake balls into melted chocolate candy coating.
They were a bit tricky to hold on the fork!
To make little turkeys, we dipped candy corn in the melted chocolate for the feathers.

For the eyes, we used a toothpick to put dots of melted vanilla candy coating, and then we placed half a chocolate sprinkle in the middle of each.
Half a piece of candy corn for the little beak.
A bit of red icing for the turkey wattle.
Our cute little turkeys! :)

Leaf Rubbings!
We gathered some leaves outside to make leaf rubbings!
That leaf on the low branch looked perfect... :)
We gathered several different shapes and sizes of leaves.
We tried to find leaves without holes and ones that were not too dry and brittle.
We placed a leaf with the vein side up under a piece of drawing paper. Then we rubbed a crayon on its side and gently colored on the paper over the leaf to "draw" the leaf design on the paper.
We used pretty fall colors ~ red, orange, golden yellow, green, and brown.

Elli did leaf rubbings for a fall scene with a tree, acorns, and a squirrel. ;)
