Playing Faux-cabulary!

Kaitlyn, Elli, and I had fun playing Faux-cabulary!  The object of the game is to use wacky word parts on the word cubes in your hand to create new funny words to fit a definition on the card.

Definition: "A mixture of butter and jelly on toast."  
Our faux-cabulary words: "super fun jelly" and "crust yum"!

Definition: "The planet where lost socks go."

Our Faux-cabulary words: "bit holey" and "puffoid"!  Haha!

Reading Before School

Elli brings home an AR (Accelerated Reader) book each day for her homework.  She has to read the book that night and again in the morning before taking the quiz at school.  Elli is an advanced reader and reads with expression!

Finger Knitting!

Elli and I learned how to do finger knitting!  We thought it might be good to know for our ugly sweater Christmas party in December!  Haha!

Elli thought it was fun and did this much rope in just a few minutes!

Kaitlyn and I made pumpkin fry bread!  It was warm and chewy and rolled in cinnamon and sugar... and perfect with tea or coffee!

Elli's First Sleepover!

Elli had her first sleepover with Kaitlyn at her apartment!  They watched part of Snow White, ate popcorn and ice cream, read stories, and then went to bed.  The next morning, they finished Snow White and had Cheerios and donut holes for breakfast.  :)

Even Marshmallow got to go to the sleepover!  She was a good puppy.

After breakfast, we walked around the college campus and met up with Brady!

This was Elli's first time to go miniature golfing and she liked it!

Halloween ~ 2016

Kaitlyn and Elli made pumpkin Rice Krispie treats for Halloween!

We used tootsie rolls for the stems and chocolate chips and yellow icing for the eyes and nose.

We also made taco-stuffed orange pepper jack-o-lanterns!

We made floating Halloween candles!  We dripped hot glue on a craft paper tube to look like a candle melting and then painted them, tied on invisible string, and added a battery tea light!

Kaitlyn drove home from college to go trick-or-treating with Elli! <3 Kaitlyn was Black Widow and Elli was Supergirl!

Mama dressed up as Wonder Woman with Elli too.  ;)

Marshmallow was a Beanie Baby for Halloween!  Kaitlyn made her a Ty heart tag and Daddy wrote the little poem inside.

"Hello, my name is Marshmallow May,

I'm toasty and sweet, and I like to play!"

Brady played a bass line along with Elli while she played and sang her Halloween song, "Grim Grinning Ghosts", from Disneyland's Haunted Mansion ride!
