Baby Grand Piano & 26th Anniversary!

Since this September will mark the 25th anniversary of my piano studio, we decided this was maybe the year to make my dream of having a baby grand piano for my studio come true!  We got a call that a baby grand that I had asked about was going to be coming in on June 12.  Jeff predicted that we would get a call about the piano on June 12 (our first date anniversary), and buy it on June 15 (our wedding anniversary).  And that is what happened!!

Elli playing one of her music festival pieces on the Boston baby grand!  Boston pianos are designed by Steinway and are built with many Steinway parts!

The baby grand is 5'4" and has a beautiful black satin finish. 

The piano salesman said the previous owner had "babied it" and the hammers were like new!

We also went to a restaurant to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary! 

Elli said, "You just got a baby grand piano on your anniversary!!"  <3

Chalk Subtraction!

Elli and I made a number grid with sidewalk chalk and played a math game!

We made a grid of numbers, using only numbers from 2 to 20.  A number could be used more than once to fill in the extra grid spaces.

Then we each tossed a small stuffed animal onto the grid.

We wrote down the two numbers as a subtraction problem.  We always used the largest number first so that we didn't get a negative number.

Elli thought our chalk subtraction game was fun, but too easy.  We will have to use bigger numbers next time!

Church Baby Shower

Our church had a baby shower for a family that adopted a baby girl!  Elli wanted to buy the baby a gift just from her and picked out a soft pink princess blanket.  :)

Eating Dragon Fruit

Elli loved dragon fruit when she was in China!   We got to try some on our adoption trip, and it tasted similar to a kiwi.  I was excited to find some dragon fruit at our grocery store to eat after the Dragon Boat Festival!

I think the dragon fruit must have been too ripe because it didn't taste right.  Elli gave it a mediocre rating of a thumbs sideways.  :-/

Dragon Boat Festival ~ 2017

We went to the Dragon Boat Festival, but we got there just after the last race had finished!  :(  We still got to see the Chinese lanterns though and eat at a Chinese restaurant!

Frozen Greek Yogurt Drops!

We made frozen Greek yogurt drops!  We put Greek yogurt in a decorator bag and squeezed out little drops onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.  We put sprinkles on some of them for fun!  Then we put them in the freezer until they were firm.
