Together in Paris ~ Day 7

Pictures taken Mar. 21, 2015 ~
Here are pictures from our last day in Paris with Kaitlyn when she was studying abroad!  We were scheduled to fly home today, but our flight was canceled due to mechanical problems.
Not flying home today!

So we got an extra day in Paris and decided to go on a tour of Roland Garros!
The Roland Garros stadium houses the French Open, which is one of the four major tennis tournaments.
Roland Garros is the premier clay-court tennis championship in the world and is the second Grand Slam tournament of the year.  The other three Grand Slam tournaments are the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
Kaitlyn was extra excited because she was planning on going to the French Open in June right before flying home!

We got to tour the Press Room and sit in the seats where the players hold press conferences!

We also toured the players' lounge and the locker rooms.  Kaitlyn was really excited to find lockers #11 and #12 that belong to Roger Federer!

Here is Roger Federer's autograph on one of the tunnel walls near center court!
We also got to go through the museum at the stadium.  Here are the Roland Garros trophies!
The tour ended with a walk on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Unfortunately, Kaitlyn got sick during the tour with the stomach virus that I had the day before.  :(  She was able to finish the tour, but we had to say goodbye at the stadium and she headed back to her apartment.
Brady got a cool French Open tennis bag at the official Roland Garros shop!
We found a cute sign showing the distances to the other Grand Slams!

We couldn't get a flight home the next day from Detroit, so we had to stay another night in a hotel.  It was probably for the best since Jeff and Brady ended up getting the stomach virus too.  :(
We finally got to head home two days late.  Elli was the only one who escaped the stomach virus and just had a little cold while in Paris.
The boys felt so much better that we decided to hit a famous local pizzeria before our flight home.

Getting home was a bit more complicated than we thought it would be, but it turned out okay.  :)

We are so glad that we got to see Kaitlyn for a week!  She has many more adventures awaiting her in the next few months in Paris!  :)
