Pictures taken June 11 ~
On our second day at Mackinac Island, Jeff and I had a beautiful day biking around the island on a tandem bike, walking around the town, and touring Fort Mackinac!
Enjoying some morning hot cocoa with a view out our window of Lake Huron.
My new Mackinac Island mug.
I had a delicious omelette for breakfast at the Round Island Grill at our Mission Point Resort.
We had a wonderful lake-view table!
A view of Mission Point's Great Lawn overlooking Lake Huron and the Straits. Mackinac Island's lake breezes make kite flying a popular activity.
Jeff and I rented a tandem bicycle to bike around the 8-mile perimeter of the island. The slightly cool, sunny day was absolutely perfect!

There was a marker for the location of a scene in the movie, "Somewhere in Time", starring Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve that was filmed on Mackinac Island!
We were there during the Lilac Festival and everything was in bloom!
Coming back into town.
We stopped in this little market for a few snacks.
We also toured Fort Mackinac.
A pretty view of the harbor as we were walking up to the fort.
We got to see a demonstration of some maneuvers.
They also had a cannon firing.
We walked up to get a better view of the famous Grand Hotel, although we were not allowed up too close or inside the hotel.
We saw many varieties of pretty lilacs in bloom as we walked around town.
We did a little shopping and I got a cute Mackinac Island top in this shop.
A view of Main Street.
We ate supper at the Pink Pony.
I had the fresh Mackinac whitefish with seasonal vegetables, and Jeff had the battered fish and fries.
We had to stop back by Joann's Fudge!
We got some yummy chocolate pecan, vanilla pecan, and toffee fudge!
Looking forward to flying to Boston tomorrow to meet up with the kids for our family vacation!
